The Wind Shoppe is a brass and woodwind sales and service shop locally owned and operated for more than three decades by Scott MacMillan and Russ Chevalier. Our focus is on repairs, however we maintain a wide selection of accessories for players and educators alike; from reeds and oils to mutes and mouthpieces. Our 2023/24 Accessories Catalogue can be viewed through a link at the bottom of this page. We also carry both new and used instruments (also found at the bottom of this page) and because our consignments list is ever-changing, please call ahead before you drop in to make sure the horn you're looking for is still available. If you're interested in having your own instrument placed on consignment with us, our consignment fees are 20% plus any repair charge to have the horn brought into Good Playing Order. The Wind Shoppe offers a practical and affordable rental program as well, and we have taken the guesswork out of choosing an instrument by selecting the finest available at a reasonable price. The minimum rental term is two months.
The owners and staff have years of experience with not only repair work, but with festivals, teaching, performing and clinics ...and can always provide you with fast, reliable assistance when needed. Our regular pick-ups and deliveries to Edmonton and area schools provide services to educators in a timely manner, and our schedule ensures most repairs are completed with a one week turnaround. Estimates for repairs are free of charge and can be done in person by bringing your horn down during regular business hours ...no need to make an appointment, and most well-made instruments are able to be brought back to life for less than you might think. Although we can handle most repairs, we do not have the equipment for re-lacquering horns. Nor do we offer ultrasonic cleanings and instead use traditional chemical baths. We have an extensive supply of new and used parts as well as tools for the most demanding of repairs and overhauls, and if we don't have the parts for your horn, we can get you information on price and shipping for whatever is needed.
We look forward to serving you, and if you've any other questions please call or email.
